Dismounting VOITH propulsion systems

According to the manufacturer’s specifications, complete disassembly of the VOITH propulsion units must be carried out after 15 years of use.

During 10 years both VOITH propulsion units have been dismantled on up to 8 tugboats. All dimensional tolerance checks, certified non-destructive testing according to indications: ultrasonic, liquid penetrant and magnetic particle tests have been carried out. Necessary repairs, bearing and seal replacements are performed; due to marine corrosion on several units the filling and on-site machining of large dimensions of the outer rotor ring is performed.

With a total of 16 units completely disassembled we can affirm that we are one of the most experienced workshops in the repair and maintenance of VOITH propulsion systems.
